Lifestyle Transformation: Personality Isn’t Permanent! Break Free from Self-Limiting Beliefs and Rewrite Your Story

What We’re Reading: “Personality Isn’t Permanent: Break Free from Self-Limiting Beliefs and Rewrite Your Story” by Dr. Benjamin Hardy

The secrets to lifestyle transformation can be elusive and pretty much non-existent if you believe your personality is who you are and cannot be changed.

Last week we mentioned Dr. Hardy’s newest book… and that got us down the rabbit hole of revisiting some of his older books.

“Personality Isn’t Permanent: Break Free from Self-Limiting Beliefs and Rewrite Your Story” is a fascinating book that challenges the traditional idea that our personalities are fixed and unchanging. Too many times we get “stuck” in this idea of who we are and it limits our potential of who we can become. Using research from psychology and personal experiences, Hardy shows we have the power to intentionally shape and transform our personalities.

Dr. Joe Dispenza said it well: “Your personal reality us made up of how you think, act, and feel, creating your personal reality. In order to create a new reality, you must change your personality.”

With “Personality Isn’t Permanent” you can learn how to do just that!

What We’re Watching: Welcome to Wrexham

Last Friday we mentioned we have been watching Season 3 of Ted Lasso on Apple TV. I guess that means the “football/soccer” bug has hit us because one of our favorite EpicDay members, Taylor Cameron, recommended “Welcome to Wrexham” on Hulu and we just started it last night.

“Welcome to Wrexham” is a funny and entertaining documentary series that follows Hollywood actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney as they just up and decide to purchase a struggling Welsh football team and try to turn it around.

You know anything with this dynamic duo is going to be funny and lighthearted, but at the same time we found ourselves 100% rooting for the underdog in the very first 30 minute episode! That’s crazy, right?!

We can all say “It’s just a game, what’s the big deal?”

But sometimes it isn’t just a game. It makes a community come together. It gives relief from day-to-day stresses and the heavy parts of life. It gives hope. It uplifts. It puts more LIFE into living.

Tech We’re Using… UE Fits by Ultimate Ears

I used to use Apple AirPods at the gym, during my outside cardio sessions, or while doing yard work or cleaning up around the house. However, they really hurt my ears. I’m not talking about the sound, I’m talking about the actual device. It became super painful every single day to put them in because they just didn’t fit my ears well.

Our daughter, Kenya, told me about UE Fits and I couldn’t wait to give them a try. UE Fits by Ultimate Ears are wireless airbuds that use Lightform Technology to mold to your ear. That’s right. You put them in, connect to the app, and the little buds mold to your ear for a perfectly customized fit.

They also have a 20 hour playtime (no more losing battery in the middle of your workouts), noise isolation, hands-free calling, and more. And the best part… no one else can use them (they won’t fit to anyone else’s ears) so they never walk off on you! Haha!

I Do Epic and How to Effortlessly Start a New Habit

I Do Epic is all about taking action, accountability, and creating new habits that set you up for success. But… if you have ever tried to start a new habit you know how difficult that can be.

Habit stacking is a brain hack that helps you almost effortlessly start a new habit.

Here’s how it works:

You take something that is already a habit of yours and use it as a trigger for the new habit you want to create.

For example: if you want a clean bathroom sink, you simply clean it while you are brushing your teeth. Your daily habit of brushing your teeth is the trigger point. If you want to drink a green smoothie every day, your trigger point is the second you come home from the gym.

You get the idea… but it really works!

Quick Bullet Updates of What We’re Up To:

• Last weekend we headed to SLC for hair extensions… and ended up at a Real Salt Lake soccer game! Bart played pickleball for a good 4 hours (while Sunny got her hair done) with Taylor Cameron, Raleigh Williams, Joseph Allen, Todd, and John Kimball who turned out to be the President of the Real Salt Lake team. Bart had an absolutely amazing time playing pickleball AND we were all super excited to be invited to watch the game later that evening in box seats. Our daughter, Kenya, and her boyfriend joined us as well as Taylor and his epic family, Raleigh, and more. It was a great time!
• Sunny has still been going to see Dr. West in Pocatello. He is pulling out all the stops to see if her vocal cords can get healed up and working right.
